Skopje will adapt digital platform from Athens
Cooperation between Skopje and Athens
The City of Skopje adapts Athens experience in providing tools for increasing the democratic participation of citizens in decision-making and generally in public life.
One of the ideas is to consider in detail the Athens Digital Platform SynAthina. A similar platform can be created in Skopje to increase the interest of citizens in public life.
On such a platform, all registered users can contribute by publishing events that they organise or which are of interest for public life. Thus, the citizens themselves organise public life in the city. At the same time, they become active participants who can express their opinion through the platform. Thus, the voice of the citizens is heard, and everyone can literally see and read it. The City of Skopje is working on setting up a Digital Council platform, which offers a broader functionality for stakeholders involved in the process of modernizing cities. Athens is the first city to do it. At the same time, the city of Skopje is considering a possibility to adjust the SynAthina platform for citizens engagement and participation.
